For a weekend, Vox Maris Grand Resort has become the hotspot of beauty and excellence on the Romanian seaside, being the host of the most important beauty contest of the summer, of the most known Romanian designers, the most beautiful models and of the most fashionable shows.

On Saturday, August 20, the stage of the spectacular Vox Maris Grand Resort Costineşti complex hosted Miss Back Sea 2016, the international beauty contest, the first event of the Fashiontv Summer Festival Mamaia 2016 series.

Octavia Istrate was chosen Miss Black Sea 2016 from a group of 20 contestants who competed for this title in Costinesti at Fashiontv’s beauty contest.

The 17-year-old youngster, from Costinesti, impressed the jury that included Franco Battaglia, one of the most famous modeling managers. She will represent Romania at Miss Fashiontv International, a contest that will take place in China where she will compete with girls from all over the world for the great Miss Fashiontv title. Octavia will have the opportunity to participate in the events that Fashiontv will hold in Singapore, Bali, and Bangkok.

“I’m proud of myself, it’s something very beautiful. I did not expect to win because there are a lot of beautiful girls here,” said Octavia Istrate, Miss  Fashion TV Black Sea.

All contestants enrolled in the competition for the big title have impressed the audience with the bathing suits test, the evening dresses ( provided by Cătălin Botezatu) test, but also with a choreography specific to the contest, giving the audience the famous navy salute. The beautiful girls selected in the competition will be rewarded with free professional photo shoots and books from Fashiontv, and they will also have the opportunity to participate at Fashiontv events around the world.

Those present at the event were able to participate at fashion shows signed by the famous Cătălin Botezatu, an internationally known romanian designer, and also meet the young generation of talents awarded at the University of Arts and Design Gala 2016, the designers Ioana Iuga and Diana Dumitrescu.
