The opening of the 2014 Mamaia Carnival was a real tour de force which turned Mamaia’s center into the fascinating Ancient Rome for a few hours. The 2014 Mamaia Fashion Summer Festival stage attracted a record number of tourists and spectators on Saturday evening at Piațeta Cazino.

And there were numerous magical attractions during the evening. Radu Mazare, the mayor, who was actually born on July 5, celebrated his 46th birthday on stage, playing the role of Julius Caesar, the Roman emperor, while Mihaela Radulescu embodied Cleopatra. The two of them were an exceptional couple. Dressed as Cleopatra, the TV star paraded on the seafront in the Constanta City Hall float, together with Mayor Radu Mazare and later she made a surprise entrance on the 2014 Mamaia Fashion Summer Festival stage by recreating the famous scene where Cleopatra greets Caesar wrapped in a rug.

Gladiator fights, ancient gods, musicians, circus performers, all in all over 100 actors and professionals, fire breathers and Oriental dancers, but also allegorical floats with spectacular subjects managed to mesmerize the audience. The gorgeous models chosen by the fashiontv Caravan had parts in the carnival show, thus becoming Emperor Caesar’s wives.

For a few moments, Caesar and Cleopatra were not the protagonists on stage, but the actors, Radu Mazare and Mihaela Radulescu. If in the past there was bad blood between the two, which made the tabloids write a number of articles about them, Constanta’s Mayor took advantage of the opportunity to publicly and officially apologize to Mihaela Rădulescu.

„My princess, I want to apologize for the things I undeservedly said to you last year and I shall crown you queen so you can pardon me!” said Radu Mazare to Mihaela Radulescu on stage.

Mihaela Radulescu has exclusively stated forwww.fpeople.ro, the fashiontv Romania site: „We have sorted this problem out long ago, we only wanted to recreate it on stage. I am not a hot-tempered or vicious person, I can understand anybody’s mistakes. Radu is a good friend of mine. I knew the craziness he puts on every year and this time I happened to be in Romania and also not involved in other projects. I finally had time and I really enjoyed being on stage.”

The allegorical floats which paraded for the opening of the 2014 Mamaia Carnival were: the Constanta City Hall float and of the following clubs: Crema, Ego, Luv, Princess, Coyote Ugly, Tan Tan, Bellagio, Fratelli and Le Gaga.

The 2014 Mamaia Carnival is part of Fashion Summer Festival Mamaia 2014, a project organized by fashiontv Romania and the Constanta City Hall.
